Hi everyone,

Let me throw something in here. I wasn't quite ready to go public with
this info, but this is such a perfect opportunity, I couldn't resist.
Within the the next two weeks I'll be announcing a new adventure race to
be held in the Uwharrie National Forest (less than 2 hours from Raleigh)
on March 11, 2006. It will have a short course - 2 to 3 hours, and a long
course - 6 to 8 hours. Disciplines will include mtb'ing, trekking,
paddling and orienteering. This race should be perfect for first-time
adventure racers, all you'll really need are a bike, a compass and some
navigation know-how.

I also plan to set up some practice courses in the Triangle over the next
few months to encourage more people to get out and try adventure racing.
Like Sean said, joining the triangle-ar mail list is a good move. I'll be
using it to announce the practice courses and other training events, as
well as the debut of the website for the adventure race in the Uwharries.

Have a great day!
